Digital pressure gauge VS mechanical pressure gauge

2019-06-121068 have been browsing

Today let's take a look at the difference between mechanical pointer pressure gauges and digital pressure gauges, and what are their characteristics, so that you can choose the product that suits you.

Mechanical pointer pressure gauges are mainly composed of pressure connections, pressure-sensitive components (bourdon tubes), transmission (movements) and other parts. The pressure medium is transferred to the inside of the bourdon tube by the pressure connection, and the bourdon tube is deformed after being stressed. The sector gear in the movement part is rotated, and the pointer follows the gear to indicate different pressures to the dial.

Digital pressure gauges use pressure sensors as pressure-sensitive components, the most commonly used is a diffusion silicon pressure sensor. The silicon single crystal material used in this kind of sensor will produce very small strain under the action of external force, and the state of the electronic energy level of its internal atomic structure will change, resulting in a drastic change in its resistivity. The resistance of the sensor will also change greatly, this effect is called the piezoresistive effect. The digital pressure gauge detects this change in resistance through an electronic circuit, and converts it into a pressure value and displays it on the screen.

After understanding their basic principles, it is easy for everyone to understand their differences. Mechanical pointer pressure gauge, mechanical stress and gear transmission structure determine that it can’t get the high-precision pressure measurement, under severe vibration conditions, it must be filled with damping oil to achieve shock resistance; the pointer indication method should be read by human eyes. Generally, two scale dials are used to realize the reading of two pressure units. But it has the characteristics of low cost and no need for power supply, so that it is widely used in industrial that do not require high measurement accuracy.

The digital pressure gauge adopts the working mode of the full electronic circuit. Only the pressure sensor produces very small physical strain when the pressure changes, which determines its high measurement accuracy, high resolution, long service life, intuitive reading and other characteristics; The full electronic circuit is hardly affected by external vibration, and its anti-vibration performance is outstanding; and it is easy to realize the functions of multiple pressure unit conversion, automatic peak recording, data remote transmission, and electrical contact control. At present, in the fields of high measurement accuracy requirements and industrial automatic control, digital pressure gauges are replacing mechanical pointer pressure gauges in large quantities.
