What thread do our pressure gauge usually use? What is the function of thread? Thread refers to a spiral-shaped continuous convex part with a specific cross-section made on the surface of a cylindrical or conical matrix with a cutter or grinding wheel during the machining process. The connection thread of the pressure gauge mainly plays the role of connection and adjustment, according to its position in the mother body, it can be divided into male threads and female threads.

Let's take a look at the specifications of the pressure gauge thread:

Pressure gauge thread is usually divided into metric thread, English thread and American thread.

1.Metric thread：are known as metric threads, the biggest difference from English threads and American threads is that the pitch is measured in millimeters.

M20×1.5:

M: means pipe thread with a cusp angle of 60°;

20: means the diameter of the threaded connection is 20mm; 

1.5: means the distance between the screw teeth is 1.5mm;

For manometer, under normal circumstances:

The connection thread size of φ40 is M10×1;

The connection thread size of φ50 is M12×1.5;

The connecting thread size of φ60 is M14×1.5;

The connection thread size of φ100 and φ150 is M20×1.5; 

2. English thread：Today we mainly introduce G Thread: 55°non-threaded sealing pipe thread. The 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 in the G thread refer to the diameter of the thread size in inches.

G1/2”:

G: means the tip angle is 55° non-threaded sealing pipe thread;

1/2”: the diameter of the connecting pipe;

For pressure meter, under normal circumstances:

The connection thread size of φ40 is G1/8;

The connection thread size of φ50 is G1/8 or G1/4;

The connection thread size of φ60 is G1/4;

The connecting thread size of φ100 and φ150 is G1/2; 

3. American thread: Today we will introduce NPT, it is the short name of National (American) Pipe Thread, It is the American standard 60°taper pipe sealing thread. The 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 refers to the nominal size of the thread, the unit is inches.

NPT1/2″：

NPT: means self-sealing spinal canal thread with a cusp angle of 60°.

1/2”: the nominal size of the thread

For pressure gauge instruments, under normal circumstances:

The connection thread size of φ40 is NPT 1/8;

The connection thread size of φ50 is NPT 1/8 or NPT 1/4;

The connection thread size of φ60 is NPT 1/4;

The connecting thread size of φ100 and φ150 is NPT 1/2;
