This week let’s continue talking about the common faults of pressure gauges.

What circumstances will the pointer of the pressure gauge stop on the other side of the zero point column? What’s wrong when there is pressure, but the pressure gauge pointer does not move?

This phenomenon occurs because the pressure of the measured medium is too high, the measuring range of the pressure gauge is exceeded. Over-range phenomena will damage the internal parts of the pressure gauge, new pressure gauge must be replaced.

If the pressure is increased too fast when it is put into use, the high-pressure wave impacts the pressure gauge, it will also affect whether the pointer can be returned to zero.

Faced with the above situation, the following countermeasures can be taken:

(1) Install a syphon pipe, it can buffer the instantaneous impact of the measured medium on the spring tube of the pressure gauge, play the role of shock absorption and protection.

(2) Change the appropriate range pressure gauge at the measurement point with large pressure fluctuations, the pressure generally does not exceed 3/4 of the upper limit of measurement.

(3) When using the instrument, you can slowly increase or decrease the pressure.
